Reasons why your children are never too young for Disney

Are they big enough to ride?

The first thing that parents are concerned about is that there isn't anything they can ride! However, most rides at Disney parks have very short height requirements or none at all. Perfect for the whole family to ride together and make those memories that a Disney vacation is all about! Here’s a link to the current height requirements

This question comes up very often. Guests are sometimes worried that their child is too young to have fun at Disney but those ideas couldn’t be farther from the truth!

Enjoy the character meet and greets!

One of my favorite things about taking my own little kids to Disney is seeing their faces light up when meeting Mickey, Minnie, one of the princesses, and so on! Remember that to them this is the REAL mickey! Getting to experience the characters through children's eyes is a wonderful experience!

There are colorful stage shows at each of the Disney parks that everyone in the family can enjoy. Each one is vastly different and these are usually either inside in air conditioning or under shaded areas so they make for a perfect nap time and the parents and older siblings still can be entertained!

What extra gear should you bring?

A Stroller and diaper bag are always great for small children. An extra set of clothes, diapers for the day, and any bottles or baby food are great things to pack for your smallest Mickey Mouse fans! Some parents even like to opt to baby-wear using a carrier or wrap. If you stay at a Disney hotel they also offer complimentary cribs, pack n plays, and bed rails for your visit.

What if you need to change or feed the baby?

You are welcome to do so anywhere in the park however DIsney has gone a step further to make the tiniest Disney world goers comfortable by adding baby care centers at each of their parks. They are indoor quiet areas dedicated to the care of babies. They have rocking chairs, high chairs, nursing privacy areas all for families to use for free. They do have a small amount of items you can purchase including diapers, wipes, and other first aid items in case you may have left these back at your hotel.

Magical Extras

Did you know that you can even add extra Disney magic for your baby by visiting the Main Street Barber shop at Magic Kingdom and get the baby's first haircut? They give your little one a specialized pair of ears along with a certificate to commemorate their visit. Personally I have been taking my kids since my oldest was only 2 years old and even though she's in double digits now she still talks about particular things we only did on that trip. I know she remembers meeting Belle and riding a few rides that are no longer there. She was definitely old enough to remember! Even if she doesn't remember every detail, the memories my husband and I made with her will last us a lifetime. Going to the parks now that she's older is still special but in a much different way. There was nothing like that first magical visit! And don’t forget that under the age of 2 is free at Disney parks!
